Moon, peaceful moon,                                                                                
come and cradle the night
and give your light
to the children of the sun
who leave their shelter in the vigil

and tame all the gods in their fury
and awaken all the lovers
to celebrate this feast
Lacy light, filtering through the leaves
mirrored light, playing on the water
hazy moonlight and the mysteries it brings
Under the moonlight there’ve been many lovers,
those who’ve found and those who’ve left each other
Poems arise from rendezvous under the moon
Moon leaves its signs
Sometimes its movements guide
legends and dreams
the moods of the sea
and life into phases of love
